Synopsis
Anticipating a trip to Atlantic City, Alice and Trixie are disappointed to discover that their husbands Ralph and Ed have planned a fishing excursion to Fred's Landing. Even worse, the girls are expected to cook and clean while the boys enjoy themselves. As it turns out, nobody has a good time -- but Ralph will never admit that his fishing trip is a bust. "Vacation at Fred's Landing" originally aired as a lengthy sketch on the June 20, 1953, edition of The Jackie Gleason Show; it was in fact the longest Honeymooners story up to that date, running slightly over 30 minutes. The sketch would later be amended and replayed on Gleason's program of June 19, 1954. Though both versions are available on home video, only the later version has been placed in TV syndication.
