Synopsis
Ralph takes it upon himself to find a girlfriend for his boyhood chum Herman Gruber (Ned Glass). Thanks to a half-overheard conversation, Alice becomes convinced that Ralph is seeking out a girl for himself! Even worse, the jealous ex-boyfriend of Herman's date Charlotte Stadtelman threatens to bust Ralph's skull. What begins as a simple act of friendship snowballs into the Bensonhurst equivalent of a French bedroom farce. One of the few Honeymooners sketches in which Alice and not Ralph is the suspicious party, the 40-minute "Cupid" originally aired February 5, 1955, as a component of The Jackie Gleason Show.
