Synopsis

Back on Heifong, Starwind & Hawking Enterprises is looking for more money-making jobs. Money is low and parking fees for the Outlaw Star are high. Melfina is optimistic. Aisha arrives with an offer to team up on a job, eradicating a pest from the sewers under Heifong. Gene and Jim toss her out and she storms off to do the job herself. Gene checks with Gilliam for leads, but Fred Luo instead calls with a lead. The job has to do with finding a cargo that has mysteriously disappeared. Jim takes Fred's lead after Gene dismisses it. Gene gets a call about an ice cream vendor that seems to succeed even though his treats taste lousy. Instead, he strikes up a date with an old flame -- the extremely cute space race official. Jim and Melfina's job involves finding a bug and a plant. The bug is ugly and the plant looks like a cactus. Aisha gets briefed on her job, finding a pest in the sewer. Jim returns to Starwind & Hawking only to find Suzuka back in the fold. Everyone converges at the town square. Gene strikes up a conversation with the race official. Both of them are struck with an irrational desire to eat ice cream -- average ice cream, to boot. The detective work Jim and Melfina conduct leads them to think of Aisha's job. If Aisha succeeds in killing the pest in the sewer, Jim won't be able to collect on the bounty for the bug and the plant. By the episode's climax, everyone is involved with everyone else's jobs. The cactus commandeers Jim to act as a mouthpiece. Gene calls the plant a "cactus bastard," and it looks like both the plant and the bug will get away, but for Melfina's special abilities. Although everything falls apart, things turn out fairly well in the end. Suzuka's idea of a good job sees her thrown out in the alley, too.
