DEA agent Jane Vasco (Kristanna Loken is carrying out a routine drug bust when she has her first encounter with a Neuro. Though the Neuro causes Jane to hallucinate, she eventually manages to win the fight before running into a mysterious man named Andre McBride. McBride works for the government - perhaps tracking Neuros - and immediately invites Jane to join his operation. Though Jane declines, she later tracks McBride to his secret headquarters in an abandoned subway station. But now Jane knows too much, and in order to prove her allegiance to the organization she will have to become an honorary soldier in the war against the Neuros. Her first assignment is to infiltrate the powerful pharmaceutical company Vonotek, but that task will prove to be a true trial by fire. When Jane and her new partner Steve attempt to break into Vonotek, Jane is thrown from a window on the fortieth story. In the process, she discovers that her body has a remarkable ability to rapidly heal. Though she still feels the pain of her injury, it doesn't take long for Jane to jump back on her feet. Meanwhile, Jane's friend Maureen is attempting to dig up information on the mysterious Neuro-huners, and Jane neutralizes her very first Neuro - but not without first suffering a serious injury. Later, Jane approaches her new colleague Dr. Carpenter in hopes of discovering the secret of her body's unusual proficiency for healing.
