Episode Guide
Battle of Inchon, Korea
Series: Combat Zone
Synopsis
As screened on the Military Channel, the documentary series Combat Zone pulls viewers "inside" of noted armed conflicts, military missions and wartime turning points from the late 20th and 21st century. Each episode hones in on one such event, with everything shot through the soldiers' eyes. In each case, dramatic reenactments (featuring professional actors) are used to transport audiences back to the place and time in question. The episode entitled "Battle of Inchon (Korea, 1950)" travels back to September 1950, approximately three months after the Communist North Koreans invaded South Korea. In response, the U.S. government decided to land on North Korean beaches and recapture the South Korean capital of Seoul. This episode recreates that series of events, which became a significant turning point in the Korean War.
