Episode Guide
Battle of Hue, Vietnam
Series: Combat Zone
Synopsis
As screened on the Military Channel, the documentary series Combat Zone pulls viewers "inside" of noted armed conflicts, military missions and wartime turning points from the late 20th and 21st century. Each episode hones in on one such event, with everything shot through the soldiers' eyes. In each case, dramatic reenactments (featuring professional actors) are used to transport audiences back to the place and time in question. The episode entitled "Battle of Hue (Vietnam, 1968)" unfurls against the backdrop of the notorious Tet Offensive from the Vietnam War, in which an estimated 2800 men were killed and over 5,000 wounded. At the heart of that maelstrom, a small and courageous group of U.S. soldiers attempted to drive Communist troops out of the City of Hue and regain control of that village. This episode tells their story.
