Episode Guide
Greenwich
Series: Crown and Country
Synopsis
Host Edward Wessex tours Greenwich, not far down the Thames from London, where time (at least, universally measured time) began in 1675 at the Royal Observatory. It was built by Christopher Wren for Charles II, and was the workplace for Charles Halley and Isaac Newton. Wessex also visits Eltham Palace, where Henry VIII grew up; and Queen Elizabeth's Oak, where Henry courted Anne Boleyn.
