Synopsis

But their plans are dashed by the arrival of Bridey who announces his own plans to marry a woman whose Catholic principles will not tolerate the living arrangements of Charles and Julia. Julia's younger sister Cordelia returns to Brideshead with news of Sebastian. Charles is keen to hear about his old friend but the news is not good: Sebastian is a drunken shadow of his former self.
