Synopsis
Charles has returned to Paris having left Brideshead for what he believes to be the last time. But Rex Mottram arrives at Charles' studio searching for Sebastian... But Rex Mottram arrives at Charles' studio searching for Sebastian who has given Rex the slip whilst en route for Switzerland where his family hope he will finally be cured of his drink problem. Charles tells Rex that he is not hiding Sebastian and that his dealings with the Marchmain family are over. Rex explains that the family has fallen on hard times and that Lady Marchmain is gravely ill. He has become engaged to Sebastian's sister Julia but the family do not really approve. And Lord Brideshead, known as Bridey, has another bombshell in store for the family..
