Synopsis
Charlotte (Kristin Davis) finally has the fiancé she's always wanted, but her happiness is compromised by the fact that she ended up proposing to Trey (Kyle MacLachlan), whose glib concurrence lacked the romance Charlotte desired. However, Trey later makes it up to her by taking her to Tiffany's to buy a monolithic engagement ring. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) finds herself engaged in a much less welcome arrangement when Steve (David Eigenberg) moves into her apartment while he looks for his own place; the situation is further exacerbated by the fact that Steve has a new girlfriend, which leads Miranda to ask herself why she continues to be so unlucky. Samantha (Kim Cattrall) also finds herself in a sticky situation when she discovers that Adam (Bobby Cannavale), her latest conquest, has, as she calls it, "funky tasting spunk." When Samantha subsequently refuses to get Clintonian on him, she's forced to explain why to her annoyed lover, who doesn't believe her, so she tells him he should sample some of himself for himself. And Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) faces her own whopper of a conundrum when a drunken Big (Chris Noth) confesses to her that his marriage is not working out, and later shows up at the hotel where she's working on a deadline. When he tells her that he loves her, Carrie tries to kick Big out, but they end up in bed together instead.
