Synopsis
It seems that a half-dozen Neuros have broken out of NICO - the overseas internment center located in Hungary - and now the team must race to Europe in order to set things straight. Upon arriving at NICO, Andre shoots director Richard Armstrong. But the man the team thought was Andre was in fact shape-shifting Neuro Dr. Baumgartner, and by the time the real team arrives, Dr. Baumgartner has assumed Armstrong's identity. As NICO head of medicine Dr. Phillips takes the team on a tour of the facilities, Jane notices that a guard armed with a chip gun is presiding over an area that they are told is simply for maintenance. Later, Riley reviews the security tapes in hopes of discerning how the Neuros escaped. Could it have something to do with the underground tunnels that lead to a nearby convent and some missing explosives? Meanwhile, Jane gets locked in the "maintenance area," discovers Armstrong's body, and uses his eyeball to stage a daring escape. Back on the outside, Dr. Baumgartner assumes that Jane is safely tucked away in the morgue and assumes her identity. When the real Jane shows up at the same time and the team proves incapable of discerning the imposter from the genuine article, they fire a few well-aimed bullets in order to see who recovers. As the plot begins to thicken, Jane and Andre discover to their horror that they may have been chasing the wrong culprits all along, and that Dr. Phillips may be the menace who has been pulling the strings from behind the scenes.
