Synopsis
Riley is competing to gain membership of an exclusive magician's club called the Magicians' Palace when he begins to suspect that his talented counterpart may be a Neuro. Of course the team gets a good laugh when they learn of Riley's latest endeavor, so they all think that it's his wounded ego that has led him to such an extreme conclusion. Later, Jane and Riley strike a deal: Jane will become Riley's onstage assistant if Riley hacks into Dr. Carpenter's computer and steals the results of a recent test she is worried about. Back at the Magicians' Palace, Jane allows Riley to shoot her with a .38 caliber revolver in order to impress the judges, but his nemesis ups the ante in a way that Riley could have never anticipated. Meanwhile, according to Dr. Carpenter's tests, Jane's IQ has leaped by thirty-five points since high school. Could this development be somehow related to Jane's bizarre healing abilities? In order to prove that Howie is a Neuro, Riley invites him to lunch and clumsily attempts to gather a DNA sample by switching drinking glasses. Though Howie catches on to Riley, the jealous illusionist does manage to procure his precious sample. Back at the lab, Dr. Carpenter decrees that he won't run any tests without Andre's approval. It's soon revealed that a magic wand handed down to Howie by his late father is the source of the magician's power. Still, the team is now determined to chip Howie at all costs.
