Synopsis
Maureen's perfect date has inexplicably taken a fatal dive from a nightclub rooftop, a development that leads the shaken team member to surmise that Neuros are once again meddling in the minds of man. Upon investigating, Riley is perplexed to find nothing unusual on the man's official file. Apparently the man was in the federal witness-protection program, and as a result his record was wiped clean. What Riley does discover, was that Maureen's date was once a mild-mannered accountant who had been targeted by a dangerous drug cartel. When two other witness protection program participants die under similarly mysterious circumstances, Riley discerns that a man named Marty Lento may be the next to go. Later, the team follows the man to a factory, not realizing that he's suffering from a bizarre hallucination that leads him to believe he's actually at a car auction. When Marty attempts to walk into a deadly laser, Jane saves him at the last minute. After taking Marty back to headquarters for questioning, Riley learns that a witness-relocation officer named Downing may be able to provide some answers about the mysterious rash of hallucination-induced suicides. But now Connor seems to be suffering from vivid visions as well, and quickly turns his guns on the team. Perhaps the crimes can all be traced to a vengeful, Stanford-educated attorney-turned-janitor whose daughter was murdered by a man who virtually walked away scot-free.
