Synopsis
Dr Mark Davies leads his crack team of young archaeologists to the Kame of Isbister, a jagged stack of rock off the north coast of Shetland, one of the most remote archaeological sites in Britain. From the air you can clearly make out signs of buildings or habitations, but the site has never been excavated. Guarded by treacherous 50- metre high sea cliffs, it's no wonder there hasn't been a previous attempt to investigate it. Facing rope work and climbing in unforgiving storm conditions, it's touch- and-go whether the team can gather enough information to complete a survey of the structures on the stack.
