Synopsis
Originally telecast in England as a one-shot special on December 26, 1995, "The Virgin in the Ice" has since been incorporated into the Cadfael weekly TV package. It all begins when two children, a brother and a sister, disappear in a snowy woods with their adult escort. Twelfth century cleric-sleuth Brother Cadfael (Derek Jacobi) must not only find out why the children disappeared, but also save the youngsters from the clutches of marauding ex-Crusaders. In the course of the drama, Cadfael meets the son he never knew he had. "The Virgin in the Ice" was adapted by Russell Lewis from the novel by Ellis Peters.
