Episode Guide
A Morbid Taste for Bones
Series: Cadfael
Synopsis
"A Morbid Taste for Bones" was adapted by Christopher Russell from the first of Ellis Peters' "Cadfael" novels. The Church has decreed that the relics of St. Winifred harbor miraculous powers. Over the protests of the Welsh population, those relics are removed from their proper resting place and deposited in Shrewbury Abbey. Fascinated by the controversy, Brother Cadfael (Derek Jacobi) uses his vast scientific knowledge to investigate the relics, and in so doing uncovers the painful truth -- a truth which he must keep hidden from everyone else. "A Morbid Taste for Bones" made its British TV debut on August 25, 1996, and was seen in America during the 1999-2000 season of the PBS anthology Mystery.
