Synopsis
When Steve (Jack Davenport) and Susan (Sarah Alexander) watch a television documentary together, Steve becomes embarrassed by the narrator's suggestion that all men masturbate, even when they're getting laid regularly. His sexual shame becomes even more acute after he meets his ultimate pinup -- TV presenter Mariella Frostrup (as herself) -- in a bar and she's not quite as fawning in real life as in his fantasies. Even that disappointment can't compare with the mortification Steve experiences during a dinner with Susan's parents. Their legendary matter-of-factness about sexual matters leads the poor guy to believe that they're constantly making digs about his onanism. Meanwhile, Patrick (Ben Miles) attempts to track down a sexual aid that an ex-girlfriend modeled on his own legendary member. Originally broadcast Sept. 10, 2001, on BBC2, "My Dinner in Hell" marked season two, episode two of the hit Britcom.
