Over the last ten years, the world's weather has become more and more violent, and many have witnessed dozens of hurricanes, tornados and volcanic firestorms. Angry Planet will take the audience on an extraordinary tour of the world's most extreme natural phenomena as we film a collection of unique and hair - raising situations involving tornados, hurricanes, blizzards and anything else Mother Nature could hit us with. Nyiragongo Volcano exploded in 2002, sending 125,000 residents of the city of Goma, Congo running for their lives. In this episode George Kourounis heads to Africa to climb the steep and very active volcano, witness the bubbling lake of molten lava and investigate the risk the dangerous volcano poses to both the people of Goma and the Mountain Gorillas who live on the jungle slopes of the Virunga Volcanos.
