奇伟与斯理寻宝 鬼斧帮派杀手袭击斯理，郄误中副车打伤白素，幸斯理及时救出她。二人慌忙逃走至小村落，误打误撞换上苗人的夫妇服，更上婚礼队伍，被村民误会是新婚夫妇，斯理大乐。红红跟随至广西，郄被奇伟捉住，以要胁斯理。白素亦找来当年的挑夫，带他们上山搜索。奇伟与鬼斧帮众人上山寻宝，鬼斧帮老大简老二背叛奇伟，炸断吊桥意图杀他，独吞宝藏，幸白素与斯理赶到救回他，奇伟脱险后竟向斯理挑战，比赛谁能先找到宝藏，时老大赶到，奇伟求他比机会他证明自己，老大答应。二人上山，红红有预感此行有危险，斯理半信半疑，但把子弹炼交给白素。 奇伟和斯理在山顶找到藏宝地，时白素到来，劝二人应合力寻宝，三人一同打开宝箱，内里只是一些沙土，三人细心思量，认为四周的石柱排列有玄机，最终找到宝藏。奇伟拿走宝藏时，突然地震，斯理劝奇伟逃走，奇伟坚持要取宝藏，最后坠崖而死。 老大和白素因奇伟之死伤心欲绝，二人决定离开上海这个伤心地，老大移居法国继续酿红酒，而白素往德国深造法医。斯理寄情工作，希望忘记白素。白素离开前找长青，把子弹炼抵押给他，为期三年。长青告知斯理此事，叫斯理追回她，斯理认为白素是想留下三年之约，二人能否相聚，要看这三年能否淡忘奇伟之死，一切看缘份。.
