Synopsis
As Gulliver strives to prove his sanity and rescue his wife Mary and son Tom from the fiendish Dr Bates, Mary and Tom are in conflict over his weird and wonderful stories, which include his experiences in the land of the Houyhnhnms (horses) and Yahoos (ape-like animals) where horses are rational creatures and humans act on instinct. Tom wants to believe his father but Mary is unconvinced. In the asylum, where Gulliver has been consigned, he attacks Dr Bates who has him locked away in the bowels of the hospital. With Mary to help him, Gulliver recounts more of his terrible experiences and manages to claw himself back to health. But will the medical board, presided over by Dr Bates, be persuaded that he is fit to be allowed back into normal life... ?, Conclusion. Gulliver lives among pseudointellectuals on an island in the sky, and, back on earth, converses with horses that can reason in a land where humans can't.
