Muggings & Mayhem
Series: Caught On Camera
Synopsis
Journalist Nick Wallis joins police forces around the nation to discover how CCTV and technological advances are helping to bring criminals to justice. The programme reveals how essential surveillance cameras have become in the fight against crime and features footage of people caught red-handed. The Met's police helicopter India99 is called to the Thames by Big Ben to help rescue a woman jumper and her two daughters, who leapt in after her. Elsewhere, the helicopter team coordinate the operation as police chase a group of graffiti artists across live train tracks in an industrial wasteland in Battersea. The case of the Hounslow Slasher, who in 2012 preyed on random lone women at night, is also reviewed.
