Synopsis
After a new state-of-the-art opening, the students have run out of money. Neil (Nigel Planer) thinks that ghosts are messing with their furniture, but it's really just Mike (Christopher Ryan) and Vyvyan (Adrian Edmondson) using every last possession as firewood. Fearing that he might have to take a job to earn money, Vyvyan offers interesting news: he's pregnant. Not wanting Vyvyan's baby to be raised as a pauper, they devise a plan for Neil to earn money in the army. He gets an impressive makeover, and the boys make their way to a recruiting office, with a snowy musical accompaniment by the one-off band Ken Bishop's Nice Twelve. The band features Jools Holland and Stewart Copeland among its members, and they perform Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues." Neil ends up working as a policeman, thanks to a Mussolini-like police chief (Alexei Sayle). When Neil returns home from a night on the beat, he finds the boys rolling in riches. Not knowing that a truck full of goodies caused the wealth, Neil goes about arresting his roommates. Vyvyan gives birth on the spot, and Mike lights a cigar in celebration, leading to a massive boom of a surprise.
