Synopsis
Trabant Trek picks up a new team member and their guide Edmund quickly proves his worth by wading through the formidable Chinese bureaucracy. They have less than a week to get all the way to the southern border, but must first detour 400km east to obtain local driver's licenses and number plates for the Trabis and it takes days before the team can finally head south towards Beijing. Once there another logistical nightmare beckons with one car breaking down after another. If they want to go on, someone will need to fly to Bangkok to arrange for emergency parts to be shipped from Budapest.
