Synopsis
"Planet Work" follows host Will Durst on a "cosmic [two-part] business trip into the 21st century" in which he comments (wryly, as usual) on globalization and reactions to it. In Brazil, Durst meets a talk-show host who's funny (he says) in six languages. And in Italy he visits the town of Bra, spiritual home of the "slow-food movement. The hour also observes Indian telemarketers who pretend to be Americans as they call U.S. homes; and follows a Bay Area "road warrior" to Asia and techie volunteers of an organization called "Geekcorps" to Ghana, where they advise local businesses.
