Synopsis
An ex-con attempting to go straight, Steve Deal (Don Dubbins) gets more than he bargained for after placing an ad in a newspaper offering to do anything to earn some extra scratch. When one of the potential employers makes an offer that makes Deals uneasy, he contacts Sgt. Friday (Jack Webb) and Officer Gannon (Harry Morgan) to look into the matter. Going undercover as Deal, Friday learns that the job was indeed an offer to rub out Harvey Forrester's (Anthony Eisley) alcoholic wife. Arranging for Friday to sneak into his house and make the murder appear as if it were a burglary gone wrong, Forrester, in turn, schemes to lie in ambush and murder the "intruder.".
