World Without Men

Welcome to Lee Arrendale State Prison, Georgias largest facility for women. From minor offenders to murderers, almost 1600 offenders make their home here, some for a few weeks … some for the rest of their lives. Here, society takes on a life of its own, with drugs, hustles and illegal sexual relationships making up much of the world behind bars. In this episode, we meet inmates all trying to find the right way to do their time in the extreme world of prison. This episode looks at four very different inmates and how their time has affected their behavior, their senses of self, and their future: from a prison stud, to a changed lifer, to a manipulator of the system. With each story, we see that learning to do time is an ongoing process; its a matter of knowing who you are, and in the extremes of prison life, who you are willing to become.
