刘婆与老更夫上了公堂，张文远见阎婆惜已死，拿宋江的压衣刀作物证，也来县衙告发，刘婆当场揭露张文远与阎婆惜私通，知县重责张文远，并判其入牢。郓城知县派雷横捉拿宋江，雷横到了宋家庄，宋太公声称与宋江早已断了父子情，并有文书可证，雷横拿文书回衙门交差。宋江前往沧州投奔柴进在柴进庄上遇见同为避官的武松，武松由于十分思念抚养其成人的兄长武大于是便告别了柴进与宋江前往清河县寻找兄长宋江放心不下送了一程又一程最终与武松分别。武松在景阳冈酒店痛饮十八碗后，带醉上路，当见到阳谷县衙榜文，要行人定时结伙过冈，免遭虎伤，这才清醒些。同时，听到山中一声虎啸，猛虎腾空窜来，武松闪过，用哨棒击之，武松赤手空拳，将老虎打死。武大以卖坎饼为生，妻子潘金莲原是张大户家使女，受尽磨难，自嫁给武大后，虽说不称心，但总算有了自己的一个家。.
