Synopsis
The life and work of influential Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen (1910-61), known for his modernist style, is explored by his son, director of photography Eric Saarinen. Among his works: St. Louis' iconic Gateway Arch; and the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Mich. The documentary includes archival interviews with Saarinen and his second wife, New York Times art critic Aline Saarinen (1914-72), as well as excerpts from letters and Aline's memoirs.
