Synopsis
When a holy man noticed that the monks at the Shaolin Temple in China seemed physically weak, he introduced a series of exercises to build strength and endurance. As time passed, martial arts training was given, so the monks could defend the temple against the constant threat of bandits. With succeeding Shaolin masters, more movements were adapted until the monks became famed for their skills and were hired as warriors.
