Synopsis
Meet Neil, Rik, Vivian and Mike in the very first episode of the anarchic 80s comedy about the exploits of four students sharing a squalid house. Utterly, utterly great!, Depressed, suicidal hippie Neil (Nigel Planer) just can't please his roommates with his unpleasant lentil dinner. Angry political poet Rick (Rik Mayall) thinks Neil is dissing his hero Cliff Richard, and he's worried that people might find him boring, so he goes on a saucer-bashing binge. Punker Vyvyan (Adrian Edmondson) bursts through the wall, with a dismembered leg and a letter from "the council." The house is going to be demolished. Their landlord (Alexei Sayle) begs for overdue rent. Vyvyan goes on a rampage, attempting to demolish the house with his own body. His theory is that the council can't demolish it if it's already destroyed. Would-be suave Mike (Christopher Ryan) attempts to sweet-talk the council representative and Rick stages a crucifixion high up on the house in protest. Perhaps a plane crash will "save" them from the council.
