Synopsis
A seven-part series by Ken Burns. By April of 1944, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt have occupied the White House for over 11 years. The President is convalescing after a bout of congestive heart failure while the war rages overseas but, despite his failing health, FDR wants the United States to emerge victorious and then join a new international organisation strong enough to ensure that the world will not go to war again - the United Nations.
