Synopsis
In the opening episode of the British cult favorite Spaced, wannabe writer Daisy Steiner (Jessica Stevenson) and unlucky-in-love skateboarder Tim (Simon Pegg) must pose as a professional couple in order to qualify as tenants in the apartment managed by hard-drinking Marsha (Julia Deakin). In addition to their eternally besotted landlady, Daisy and Tim commisserate with several other tenants. Foremost among these are Tim's best friend Mike (Nick Frost), a self-proclaimed "gun nut"; Daisy's pal Twist (Katy Carmichael), a fashion designer; and Brian (Mark Heap), an artist with some serious issues. Spaced was assembled by the same team responsible for the 2002 zombie-movie takeoff Shaun of the Dead.
