Synopsis
This historical documentary examines the critical role that armored tanks played in expanding the breadth of Allied beachheads at Normandy during World War II. Its thesis rests on the idea that the Allies used tanks to clear the beaches of German ammunition, artillery, landmines and other detriments, and thus facilitated the famous Normandy landing on June 6, 1944. In relaying these events, this program relies on a combination of archival footage, CG graphics, interviews with veterans, and discussions with academics well-versed in tank history including Dr. Stephen Badsey and David Fletcher.
