Synopsis
Todd Carmichael goes to the island nation of Haiti in search of a rare, rumored colonial strain of coffee plant called typica. Two centuries ago, Haiti was the number two coffee producer in the world and home to what some of the most savored coffee on the planet. After averting a brewing riot in an urban marketplace, Todd travels deep into the mountains where he navigates treacherous roads, dodges gun-toting middlemen, and sleeps under his truck for protection at night. Finally reaching ideal coffee-growing altitude, Todd begins to see signs of the treasure he's looking for, if only he can find a farmer brave enough to sell it to him.
