Synopsis
When Latka (Andy Kaufman) announces that his mother is coming from the Old Country to pay him a visit, the cabbies expect to meet a shy, wizened old lady. But Greta Gravas (Susan Kellerman) turns out to be a busty, Junoesque blonde with an insatiable appetite for food...among other things. Catching Greta in the act of "nik-nik" with Alex (Judd Hirsch), an outraged Latka demands that Alex make an honest woman of his mother by marrying her. But can an "ancient custom" save both Greta's honor and Alex' bachelorhood?, American comedy about a cantankerous taxi dispatch operative (Danny DeVito) and his downtrodden colleagues. When Latka's mother comes to visit, he asks Alex to entertain her.
