Synopsis
The series ends, as former secretary of state George Shultz recalls the 1986 Reykjavik summit, which he initially deemed a disappointment but later saw as a success, a 1987 U.S.-USSR treaty to dismantle intermediate-range nuclear missiles, and the Iran-Contra scandal, as well as his efforts on behalf of Jewish refuseniks in the Soviet Union and an economic briefing he gave Mikhail Gorbachev. The doc also details his post-State Department life and features remarks from his wife and children.
