Episode Guide
Hawaii: Strangers in Paradise
Series: National Geographic
Synopsis
Since man's arrival to the Hawaiian Islands over 2000 years ago, nearly 70% of the native plant and animal species have become extinct -- and many of the remaining species are in danger. Thus a tough battle lies ahead for scientists and conservationists trying to maintain what is left of native species. National Geographic: Hawaii - Strangers in Paradise follows several of the groups trying to save Hawaii from its invaders. The program introduces several of the endangered plants and animals, shows how they live, and discusses the underlying causes of population decline.
