Synopsis
Handsome Lt Sharpe joins forces with the South Essex regiment and is ordered to destroy a key bridge but, owing to incompetence in high places, the regimental colours are lost. However, a dying officer requests that Sharpe try to capture a French Eagle in an act of retaliation, and Sharpe and his men soon find themselves playing a key role in the Battle of Talavera.
