Synopsis
In this animated fantasy adventure from Japan, Hitomi Kanzaki is a student who is led into a strange and thrilling alternate reality by Van, a mystic swordsman, after she discovers a man locked in a battle with a dragon. As Hitomi learns to travel through the mysterious world known as Gaea, she and Van are challenged by the Empire of Zaibach, and they must unlock the secrets of the armor known as Escaflowne if they are to prevail. As danger lurks around every turn, Hitomi chooses a less than ideal time to fall in love with her comrade in arms, Van.
