Episode 1

Drama series set in a Cheshire village during the Second World War. The isolated community could not feel further away from the impending bloodshed and battlefields, yet it is not immune from the effects of war. As the conflict takes hold, the population find themselves under increasing and extraordinary pressures in a rapidly fragmenting world. With war looming, the women of Great Paxford face a difficult decision, and Dr Campbell discovers the terrible reason why he cannot enlist.
