Synopsis
In the world of Wolf's Rain, the Earth has fallen on hard times and for many, the world seem's a bleak place. The wolf, a creature mythologically associated with mysticism, became a scapegoat and is now thought to be extinct. A handful have survived, however, and using their ability to take human form, they hide their presence by frequently blending in with human society. They steal and scrounge in order to survive, but this is no way to live. For the four young wolves who discover each other in a single town, the answer is to head out in search of paradise, which the legends say will open itself up to wolves when the end of the world is near. The odyssey could easily result in their deaths, as wolves are still seen as cursed and are persecuted even in name, but like all wolves left on Earth, they have nothing left to lose. What follows is a mystical journey of hope, loss, and faith that constantly asks the question: if paradise does exist, what will they find there? Wolf's Rain was created and written by Keiko Nobumoto, who was also a writer for the acclaimed series Cowboy Bebop.
