Movie
Wheels on Meals
Synopsis
Three of Hong Kong's best-loved kung-fu heroes, (Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao and director and frequent Chan collaborator Sammo Hung), star in this standard action comedy about a pair of fast-food vendors in Barcelona who sell their Chinese fare out of a high-tech van and become attracted to a mysterious woman (Lola Forna). This beautiful stranger has an expertise in picking pockets. She also has a mother in a psychiatric hospital, and, unbeknownst to her, a fortune waiting for her in the wings. The unsuspecting heiress also has a nasty stepbrother out to kidnap her, and it is up to the two vendors and one bumbling detective to save her -- even if it means attacking the enemy's castle and doing hand-to-foot combat with a few non-Chinese martial arts experts. Originally more logically titled Meals on Wheels, the studio reversed the words because they had just released two box-office flops whose titles started with "M." Perhaps their ploy worked, since this film was anything but a flop.
