Synopsis
German filmmaker G.W. Pabst directed this gripping portrait of four WWI German soldiers hunkered down in French trenches. Fritz Kampers, Gustav Diessl (who was a WWI POW). Pabst spent four years in a French prison camp. This was the director's first film with sound.
