Synopsis
A middle-aged Russian physician Slobodan Perovic prefers to isolate himself from the people of a small village in this somber psychological drama. He feels intellectually superior to everyone except for a political prisoner locked up in the local mental hospital known as Pavilion 6. As the doctor tries to converse with the patient, he is compelled to question his own values to the point of insanity. Heavy symbolism and metaphors illustrate government repression that leads to the death of individual freedom of expression in this plodding film.
