Vleesjunk Marijn (bekend als presentator van de Keuringsdienst van Waarde) probeert van haar verslaving aan vlees af te komen met een stage bij een koeienslachterij en een bezoek aan 100.000 plofkippen. Door haar biefstukje recht in de ogen te kijken hoopt ze een gezondere morele relatie op te bouwen met het lapje vlees op haar bord. Dat blijkt nog een hele emotionele, soms komisch-erotische tour, waarin ze wordt bijgestaan door een psycholoog. Terwijl Marijn dapper vordert langs de slachtlijn, vindt ze antwoorden op haar vragen bij onder andere vleesfokkers en -kwekers, geheel-onthouders en de wel heel appetijtelijke chef-kok Joris Bijdendijk.
