Underworld: Awakening
Synopsis
Swedish directors Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein take the helm for the fourth entry in the violent vampires-versus-werewolves fantasy action-thriller series. Kate Beckinsale returns to her role as Selene the sleekly clad vampire warrior, who has awoken from 12 years of cryogenic hibernation at the Antigen biotech lab to find that mankind has discovered the existence of vampires and werewolves and has been mercilessly pursuing their extermination. Selene escapes from the lab and discovers that, while she was asleep, she had a daughter, Eve, from her union with her lycan-vampire lover Michael. While Antigen claim to be researching how to defeat the virus that creates vampires and lycans, they're actually looking for ways to overcome lycan genetic weaknesses. The DNA of a lycan-vampire hybrid like Eve is therefore of immense interest to Antigen. Can Selene save her daughter?.
