Synopsis
Vitaliy Mansky directed this unprecedented look inside the closed-off world of North Korea, as he profiles a young girl during her yearlong preparation for the annual celebration of Kim Jong-il's birthday. Despite dealing with interference from the intrusive North Korean government, Mansky is able to capture a slice-of-life story within the capital city of Pyongyang.
