Synopsis
Directed by Ralph Fiennes and inspired by Rudolf Nureyev: The Life by Julie Kavanagh, this biographical drama follows the talented homosexual Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev as he defects from the Soviet Union to the West in 1961. Not alone in his trip to Europe, Nureyev is followed by lingering KGB agents keen to prevent him from mixing with Western intellectuals and frequenting the Parisian gay scene. Screenplay by David Hare.
