The Rendering
Synopsis
After being brutally attacked by Theodore Gray, a deranged stalker, aspiring artist Sarah Reynolds uses her talents to draw a perfect sketch of her assailant. Her work helps to put this sociopath behind bars, and Sarah volunteers her skills to help other victims identify their attackers. But as she sketches a suspect who has raped and murdered several women, Sarah is horrified to realise that the man she is drawing is her own husband, Michael. But is Michael really capable of such horrific acts? And just how does Theodore Gray, who is now seeking release on parole, fit into the picture?, In 1991, police sketch artist Sarah (Shannen Doherty) was savagely attacked by a smirking sadist named Gray (Peter Outerbridge). Ten years later, Gray is released from prison, with but one thought on his mind: revenge. Exploiting Sarah's gift for sketching "perfect" portraits of perpetrators, Gray intends to frame the woman's husband for murder -- and then exact a particularly vicious form of "payback" on Sarah herself. Originally released on the Canadian direct-to-video market as The Rendering on January 15, 2002, the Montréal-filmed Portrait of Murder made its American TV premiere over the WB Network on July 31 of that same year.
