Synopsis
Fantastically moustachioed mechanic Dick Strawbridge is trying to re-create history's most ingenious inventions. A look at Henry Trengrouse's novel idea in the 1800s. After witnessing a terrible shipwreck and unable to help, he set about investing some of his fortune in creating the 'Breeches Buoy', a rocket propelled rescue device which is now a fixture on every single RNLI lifeboat in Britain.
